Advanced Exploitation Techniques with BeEF

This lab immerses participants in advanced exploitation techniques through the Browser Exploitation Framework (BeEF), a tool designed to manipulate browser vulnerabilities and gain control over client systems. Students will configure a controlled environment where they can carry out simulated attacks, targeting browsers with Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities. By exploiting these weaknesses, participants will hook target browsers and maintain persistent access. Through a series of hands-on exercises, learners will gain firsthand experience with key techniques such as reflected and stored XSS exploitation, browser manipulation using BeEF commands, and social engineering strategies to capture sensitive information. In addition, the lab covers the installation of the Veil framework for evasion and the creation of backdoor payloads, highlighting how attackers can evade antivirus detection and establish connections to compromised systems using Metasploit. By the end of the lab, participants will have a comprehensive understanding of browser-based vulnerabilities, their exploitation, and defensive strategies to secure web applications.
