Course Overview

In today’s digital landscape, Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) has become a crucial skill for cybersecurity professionals, investigators, and researchers. OSINT involves gathering publicly available information from various online sources to analyze threats, verify identities, and uncover hidden data. However, with the power of OSINT comes the responsibility to follow ethical guidelines and maintain operational security (OPSEC) to protect both investigators and targets from unintended risks. This course delves into the essential principles of OSINT while emphasizing privacy techniques to ensure safe and responsible intelligence gathering.

This course begins with an introduction to the Open-Source Intelligence Cycle, OPSEC, and ethical considerations. Learners will then set up a secure OSINT virtual environment, including configuring virtual machines, customizing Ubuntu, and optimizing web browsers. The course explores advanced search engine techniques, such as Google dorking, IoT search engines, and Dark Web research. Students will gain hands-on experience with powerful Linux OSINT tools, including Recon-ng, Spiderfoot, Sherlock, theHarvester, Sublist3r, and dnstwist. Finally, the course covers OSINT summarization, reporting methodologies, and best practices for documenting findings effectively.

By the end of this course, learners will have mastered OSINT techniques, configured a secure research environment, and utilized advanced tools to gather intelligence while maintaining privacy and ethical standards.
