Course Overview

Trust is essential in our everyday lives, we need to prove things about ourselves, and have appropriate confidence in others, to take any action from the day-to-day and to our significant life decisions. Proving things about ourselves online, and trusting things about others online, is hard and the tools and designs we currently use present problems for people and organizations alike. Online trust crumbles with each data breach and surveillance economy outrage.

This course will help you learn about how the emerging technologies and design principles behind self-sovereign identity can be used by organizations, people, and even things to help to restore our confidence in online transactions. The course provides insights into these technologies, the fundamental principles upon which they rely, how they can be used to build better systems, and where new developments are heading. It will teach you how these technologies can support new trust models and new business models.

By the end of this course, you will have a better understanding of SSI technology and principles, and how they can be used to build better systems.
