Course Overview

In this course, I will start with a deep introduction to IPsec and PKI fundamentals which is crucial for the course and future concepts. Then I will introduce students to how these concepts have been applied in Junos security devices. Then I will proceed with implementing the two most important implementation scenarios of IPsec tunnels which are Policy-based and Route-based IPsec tunnels.

ADVPN and Auto VPN are the next topics that will be covered which are useful in Hub-and-spoke-based scenarios. Remote-access VPNs are widely in use these days especially after the COVID-19 pandemic where millions of people had to work from home. So, in the next step, I will teach students how they can configure remote access VPNs on the Juniper SRX devices. NAT-T or NAT Traversal is a challenging concept in some VPN-based implementations which will be covered next.

In the end, we will learn some methods and commands to monitor the VPN tunnels.
