As the Vulnerability Assessment & Management Analyst, your task is to thwart a planned attack by the notorious nation-state cybertrooper K@3PL33T, who aims to infiltrate the nation’s power grid controls and cause a widespread blackout for publicity. You are to identify vulnerabilities in the system by attempting to gain root access to the production server. Your mission is to proactively uncover weaknesses, assess potential threats, and prevent the attacker from successfully penetrating critical infrastructure, ensuring the safety and security of the power grid. This Challenge requires knowledge of web application enumeration using various tools, cryptography, and network scanning skills to gather information on targets. Players will demonstrate Password cracking and Base64 decryption and knowledge of red team methodologies. The target machine runs on a Linux Ubuntu OS with an IP address of 10.10.1.133.
