Course Overview

In today’s highly connected digital landscape, network security plays a critical role in protecting organizational operations and ensuring business resilience. As networks become more complex across offices, production plants, and data centres, threats increasingly target architectural weaknesses, misconfigurations, and unmanaged systems. This course equips you with the practical knowledge and skills required to secure modern network environments through effective design, implementation, and monitoring practices.

This course begins with the fundamentals of secure network design, covering key principles such as defence in depth, least privilege, segmentation, and zero trust. You will explore network segmentation using VLANs and gain hands-on experience with VLAN configuration, inter-VLAN routing, and Access Control Lists (ACLs). The course then covers implementation of core security technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, access controls, and VPNs using IPSec, SSL/TLS, and L2TP. You will also learn to configure secure connectivity, manage security policies, and monitor network activity using tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, NetFlow, and SIEM platforms for threat detection and response.

By the end of this course, you will be able to design, secure, monitor, and manage resilient network infrastructures using industry-relevant tools and security best practices.
