Course Overview

Modern application development and deployment have become more complex. With the multiplication of assets, tools, and frameworks and the need to deliver more often new versions, it is quite difficult to keep everything under control. Manual actions lead to errors and inconsistency, and you are never safe from a typo. What if you could uniformize and industrialize it? Wouldn't it be awesome if you can just deploy or roll back quickly, with monitoring and assurance that what you deliver won't be broken?  

In this course, you’ll learn to install and use ArgoCd, enable continuous deployment in your ecosystem, and keep your applications under control. ArgoCd follows IaC (Infrastructure as Code) principles, It means that just with your code, you can validate, modify and apply new versions on your Kubernetes cluster. You’ll be able to secure your deployments and monitor or adopt new strategies like blue green or canary at ease. And it’s not just about the application itself, it’s the entire Kubernetes services, deployment, and controllers.  

With tools integration like Helm or Kustomize, it’s another step into GitOps and safer releases.

Kevin Mathelot

Kevin Mathelot, currently working as Cloud Infrastructure Team lead in a worldwide SaaS company. 15 years of IT experience, mostly in Cloud computing, sysadmin, and Development. He has designed and reviewed CI/CD pipelines for various companies in heterogeneous domains such as Data transformation, application building, and software delivery in a high availability context. Comfortable with managed and self-hosted solutions including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Gitlab CI/CD. He has implemented DevOps practices in every company he has been in and helped engineers to face high-scale deployment strategies. He used to always think about deployment process optimization and how to facilitate delivery. His major area of work includes technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and monitoring solutions with Prometheus/Grafana.
