Course Overview

Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW) represent a significant evolution from traditional firewall systems, with Fortinet’s FortiGate NGFW standing out as a prominent solution in this field. It blocks threats, inspects data packets, controls applications, and fights malware. This virtual or physical solution simplifies network security management and protects your valuable data.

This course is designed to empower students with the essential skills to proficiently handle the fundamental functionalities of FortiGate NGFW. The course begins with a refresher on how firewalls work and the history behind them, followed by how to install FortiGate on virtual environments such as VMware, GNS3, Eve-NG, and other platforms. Next, we will dive deep into the more advanced configuration tasks such as configuring routing protocols, zones, interfaces, policies and objects, DNS settings, and more. Moving ahead, we will cover SD-WAN and all its options for optimizing traffic bound to internet resources. Lastly, we will discuss advanced policies such as DoS policies, Local-In policies, Access control and interface policies. 

By the end of this course, you’ll have all the skills needed to deploy the FortiGate Firewall and configure it to perform the most common tasks of a Next Generation Firewalls.
