Course Overview

Network security is a growing issue with the number of cyber-attacks, malware, ransomware attacks, and breaches growing. Attacks can come from any number of angles (scanning, Spidering, Google dorks, social media techniques, etc.). Thus, having the ability to identify your attack surface is critical to protecting yourself and your company.

This course will teach you how to identify various types of attacks, how they are deployed, and how they are leveraged. This information will help you in knowing how to protect against them.

To fully understand the reconnaissance approach and defend against it, we will first learn from the position of the malicious hacker utilizing the first phase of hacking (reconnaissance) in order to gain a foothold. From there, we will flip the scenario to the defender, looking at best practices and tools that can help defend us and our networks.
