Course Overview

Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions play a critical role in helping organizations detect, investigate, and respond to cyber threats by collecting and analyzing security data from multiple sources. As security environments continue to grow in scale and complexity, high-performance time-series databases like InfluxDB have become valuable for storing, processing, and visualizing large volumes of security logs, metrics, and telemetry. This course provides hands-on training in building a modern SIEM and security monitoring solution using InfluxDB and its supporting technologies.

This course begins with the fundamentals of security monitoring and SIEM, exploring their architecture, benefits, and role in modern Security Operations Centers (SOCs). You will then learn how to install, configure, and manage InfluxDB, ingest security data using Telegraf, and efficiently store security logs and metrics. The course continues with real-time event analysis, dashboard creation using Grafana, infrastructure monitoring with Zabbix, and network traffic analysis using Suricata. You will also configure security alerts, notifications, and reporting capabilities to support incident detection, compliance, and operational visibility across enterprise environments.

By the end of this course, you will be able to deploy, configure, and manage an InfluxDB-based security monitoring platform capable of collecting, visualizing, and analyzing security events to strengthen organizational security operations.
