Course Overview

Due to insecure communications between clients and servers, threats can intercept and capture sensitive data such as users’ credentials. Security services are typically a type of service which ensure the required level of security is met on a system to support data transfers across a network. Transport Layer Securities (TLS) are designed to provide security at the transport layer. TLS was derived from a security protocol called Secure Service Layer (SSL).

This course is designed to give you a solid understanding of how secure communication can be performed using SSL, TLS, Certificates, and other web technologies. You will learn about the actual process of secure communication, some of the vulnerabilities associated with insecure communication, certificates, and PKI, and how to manage all of the above. You will also get into everyone’s favourite topic, encryption. You will discover some basic encryption ideas and how it works.

By the end of this course, you will have a greater understanding of secure communications using SSL and TLS.

What You Will Learn

  • A solid understanding of PKI basics and SSL/TLS.
  • An in-depth understanding of certificate management.
  • How data is sent utilizing SSL/TLS.
  • Overview of the common encryption methods used within secure communications.
