Course Overview

Third-party suppliers, software dependencies, hardware components, and outsourced services can introduce significant cybersecurity risks into an organization's environment. Effective supply chain security requires organizations to assess suppliers, establish security requirements, understand component dependencies, and continuously monitor third-party risks. At the same time, mature Security Operations Centers (SOCs) and coordinated national-level monitoring capabilities are essential for detecting and responding to threats across interconnected environments.

This course begins with third-party risk lifecycle management, covering critical supplier identification and onboarding, supplier cybersecurity due diligence, and embedding security requirements and step-in rights into contracts. It then explores Software Bills of Materials (SBOMs) and Hardware Bills of Materials (HBOMs), including their role in supply chain security and managing end-of-life risks. The course concludes with SOC maturity and national federation, covering the UAE SOC Baseline, progression from barebones to preferred maturity, federation with the National SOC, and standardized logging, monitoring, and tamper detection protocols.

By the end of this course, you will understand how to manage third-party cyber risks, strengthen software supply chain security, and support SOC maturity and national cybersecurity coordination.
