While Mainframes are considered inherently secure, CISOs can develop a false sense of security about the level of risk associated with mainframes, as they are still susceptible to ransomware attacks, insider threats, zero-day attacks, code-based vulnerabilities, and DDoS attacks. The potential attack surface that can be exploited continues to expand as mainframes undergo modernization and new apps, devices, and unsecured home networks are added to the networks, and malicious actors can use these vectors to access the mainframe. Mainframe literacy is essential if you plan to play a lead role in an enterprise’s effort to achieve and maintain competitive digital agility.

This course will begin with a discussion of the evolution of the Mainframe. Following this, you will get to know about the architecture and components of the Mainframe. Further in this course, you will understand the fundamental concepts and terminologies of z/OS. You will also learn basic Mainframe programming skills. Later, in this course, you will learn about the concept of CICS and DB2. Lastly, you will see the process of installation of the Mainframe on a Windows Personal Computer/Laptop.

By the end of this course, you will have gained knowledge on the Mainframe.
